The opening game of the season was a steep learning curve for all our new additions to playing senior ladies hockey, either coming up through the club as a Junior or as one of our new Back to Hockey members.

Although being 4-0 down after the first half we kept our enthusiasm and determination working much better as a team in the second half as everyone got used to their own playing positions, pace of play and on pitch tactics.

We dominated the final 15 minutes of the game as the squad gelled together and we were successful in securing a goal from a Penalty Corner, Abi Hunter scored off the rebounded save of the keeper with an amazing lifted shot into goal! This is Abi's first goal whilst playing senior hockey and was absolutely spectacular - well done Abi!

Molly Richardson, another one of our juniors, who shows continuous energy and effort on the pitch was deservedly voted Player of the Game - well done Molly you were fab as always.

Well done to the whole team, it was a tough first game but we kept trying, there were lots of positives to be taken away from the game it was a pleasure to play with and welcome all the new players!
